This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our mobile application (the "App"), our website at mattieswash.com (the "Site"), our laundromat locations, and any related services (collectively, the "Services").

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.

2. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide

• Account information: When you create an account, we collect your full name, email address, phone number, and date of birth.
• Payment information: When you make a purchase, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your payment card details. We do not directly store your full card number. We may store a Stripe customer identifier, card brand, last four digits, and expiration date for your convenience.
• Profile information: Any additional information you voluntarily provide, such as profile updates or preferences.
• Communications: When you contact us or respond to surveys, we collect the content of those communications.
• Promotional codes: When you redeem a promo code, we record the code used and associated discount information.

B. Information Collected Automatically

• Device information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
• Usage data: Pages and features accessed, time spent, actions taken within the App and Site, and referring URLs.
• Location data: With your permission, we collect precise geolocation data from your mobile device to show you nearby Mattie's locations and enable location-based features such as machine activation radius verification.
• Transaction data: Records of your wash and dry transactions, machine usage, loyalty points earned and redeemed, and payment history.
• Log data: IP address, browser type, access times, and login events.

C. Information from Third Parties

• Authentication providers: If you sign in with Google or another third-party provider, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture as permitted by your account settings.
• Payment processor: Stripe may provide us with limited payment information such as card fingerprint data for fraud prevention.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create, maintain, and secure your account
• Process payments and transactions for wash and dry services
• Operate and administer the Mattie's Loyalty Rewards program, including tracking points, applying rewards, and processing referral bonuses
• Send you transactional messages (receipts, cycle notifications, account alerts)
• Send promotional messages and deals via SMS, push notifications, or email, where you have opted in
• Show you nearby Mattie's locations based on your geolocation
• Validate promo codes and apply discounts
• Verify QR code scans and machine activations
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues
• Analyze usage trends to improve our Services
• Comply with legal obligations

4. SMS and Push Notification Communications

When you create an account, you may opt in to receive SMS text messages from Mattie's. By opting in, you consent to receive recurring automated promotional and transactional text messages at the phone number you provided. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.

You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by texting STOP to any message you receive from us or by updating your preferences in the App. Opting out of promotional SMS will not affect transactional messages related to your account or active transactions.

Push notifications can be managed through your mobile device settings at any time.

5. Loyalty Rewards Program

When you participate in the Mattie's Loyalty Rewards program, we collect and use transaction data to track your points balance, lifetime points earned, and reward redemptions. We may use your transaction history and preferences to personalize offers and promotions.

Loyalty points have no cash value and cannot be transferred or sold. We reserve the right to modify the rewards program at any time. See our Terms & Conditions for full program details.

6. Payment Information

All payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. When you save a payment method for future use, your card details are stored securely by Stripe — not on our servers. We receive and store only a Stripe customer identifier and limited card metadata (brand, last four digits, expiration) to display your saved payment methods.

Mattie's account credits (stored as Stripe customer balance) may be earned through referral bonuses or applied by customer service. Credit balances are automatically applied to future transactions.

7. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: We share information with third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, including payment processing (Stripe), cloud hosting (Supabase), analytics, and communications. These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only to provide services to us.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
• Safety and fraud prevention: We may share information to protect the rights, property, or safety of Mattie's, our users, or the public, and to detect and prevent fraud.
• Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
• With your consent: We may share information for other purposes with your explicit consent.

8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our Site may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to recognize your browser, remember your preferences, and analyze how our Site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect Site functionality.

Our App may use mobile analytics tools to help us understand usage patterns and improve our Services.

9. Geolocation Data

We request access to your device's location services to show you nearby Mattie's locations and to verify your proximity when activating machines. Location data is collected only when you grant permission through your device's operating system.

You can revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings. Some features, such as finding nearby locations, may not function without location access.

We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest, access controls, and secure authentication. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our Services. We may also retain information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and for legitimate business purposes such as analytics and fraud prevention.
