1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Mattie's. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Mattie's mobile application (the "App"), website at mattieswash.com (the "Site"), laundromat locations, and all related services (collectively, the "Services") operated by Mattie's ("Mattie's," "we," "us," or "our").

By creating an account, accessing, or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use our Services.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use our Services. If you are under 18, you may only use the Services with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using our Services, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements.

3. Account Registration

To access certain features of our Services, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration (including your name, email address, phone number, and date of birth)
  • Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
  • Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain inaccurate information or violate these Terms.

4. Services and Machine Use

Mattie's provides self-service laundry facilities equipped with commercial washers and dryers. Through the App, you can:

  • Browse nearby Mattie's locations and view machine availability
  • Select a machine size and type (washer or dryer)
  • Pay for services via stored payment methods
  • Scan machine QR codes to activate your selected machine
  • Receive a digital activation code for machine operation
  • Track your transaction history and loyalty rewards

You are responsible for using machines in accordance with posted instructions at our locations. Mattie's is not responsible for damage to personal items resulting from improper machine use, overloading, or failure to follow care label instructions.

5. Payments and Pricing

A. Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Stripe, Inc. By providing a payment method, you authorize us to charge the applicable fees for the services you select. You may save payment methods to your account for future use.

B. Pricing

Prices for wash and dry services vary by machine size and location. Current prices are displayed in the App at the time of purchase. We reserve the right to change pricing at any time without prior notice, though price changes will not affect transactions already completed.

C. Account Credits

Mattie's account credits may be earned through referral bonuses, promotional offers, or customer service adjustments. Credits are automatically applied to future purchases. Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and cannot be redeemed for cash. We reserve the right to expire unused credits upon reasonable notice.

D. Refunds

If a machine malfunctions after payment and your cycle does not complete, please contact us for a refund or account credit. Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of the transaction. Refunds are issued at our discretion to the original payment method or as account credit.

6. Loyalty Rewards Program

A. Earning Points

As a registered user, you automatically participate in the Mattie's Loyalty Rewards program. You earn points on qualifying purchases made through the App. The number of points earned per transaction is determined by the current rewards configuration and may vary.

B. Redeeming Points

Accumulated points may be redeemed for discounts on future wash and dry services, as described in the App. Point values and redemption thresholds are set by Mattie's and may change at any time.

C. Program Rules

  • Points have no cash value and cannot be transferred, sold, or exchanged for cash
  • Points are tied to your account and cannot be combined with another user's points
  • We reserve the right to void points earned through fraud, abuse, or violation of these Terms
  • Points may expire after a period of account inactivity, as communicated through the App
  • We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the loyalty program at any time with reasonable notice

7. Promotional Codes and Coupons

Mattie's may offer promotional codes ("promo codes") that provide discounts on Services. Promo codes are subject to the following:

  • Each promo code may have specific terms, including expiration dates, machine type or size restrictions, and per-customer usage limits
  • Promo codes cannot be combined with each other unless explicitly stated
  • Promo codes have no cash value and are non-transferable
  • We reserve the right to void or revoke promo codes that are obtained or used fraudulently, including through the use of multiple accounts
  • Discount order: base price, then loyalty discount, then promo code discount, then account credit

8. Referral Program

Mattie's may offer a referral program that rewards you for referring new users. Both the referrer and the referred user may receive account credits upon the referred user's first qualifying purchase. Referral rewards are subject to the following:

  • Referral credits are issued after the referred user completes their first qualifying transaction
  • Self-referrals and fraudulent referrals will result in forfeiture of referral credits and may lead to account suspension
  • We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the referral program at any time

9. SMS and Communications

By opting in to receive SMS messages during account registration, you consent to receive recurring automated text messages from Mattie's, including promotional offers, deals, and transactional notifications. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.

You may opt out at any time by texting STOP. Text HELP for assistance. Your consent to receive SMS is not a condition of purchase. See our Privacy Policy for more details on how we handle your communications preferences.

10. Mobile Application

The Mattie's App is available for download on iOS and Android devices. By downloading and using the App, you agree to these Terms as well as any terms imposed by the applicable app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).

The App may require access to certain device features, including:

  • Camera: To scan QR codes on machines for activation
  • Location services: To display nearby locations and verify proximity for machine activation
  • Push notifications: To send you transaction updates and promotional messages

You may disable these permissions in your device settings, but some features may not function properly without them.

11. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Services — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio, software, and the overall design and layout — are owned by Mattie's or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Services without our prior written consent.

12. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent promo code limits, referral restrictions, or other anti-fraud measures
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Services, other users' accounts, or our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any aspect of the App or Services
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Services
  • Misuse, damage, or vandalize equipment at our laundromat locations
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users or Mattie's staff

13. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE AVAILABILITY OF ANY PARTICULAR MACHINE AT ANY LOCATION.

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MATTIE'S AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO MATTIE'S IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

15. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Mattie's and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Services; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights; or (d) any content you submit through the Services.

16. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

A. Informal Resolution

Before filing any formal dispute, you agree to first contact us at hello@mattieswash.com to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will try to resolve the matter within 30 days.

B. Binding Arbitration

If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and Mattie's agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Arbitration will take place in the state where you reside or another mutually agreed location.

C. Class Action Waiver

YOU AND MATTIE'S AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims and may not preside over any form of class or representative proceeding.

D. Jury Trial Waiver

IF FOR ANY REASON A CLAIM PROCEEDS IN COURT RATHER THAN IN ARBITRATION, YOU AND MATTIE'S EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL.

E. Opt-Out

You may opt out of the arbitration agreement by sending written notice to hello@mattieswash.com within 30 days of first creating your account. Your notice must include your name, email address, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of binding arbitration. If you opt out, you and Mattie's may still resolve disputes in court.

F. Exceptions

Notwithstanding the above, either party may bring an individual action in small claims court for disputes within the court's jurisdiction. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or equitable relief in court for claims related to intellectual property or unauthorized access to the Services.

17. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State in which Mattie's principal place of business is located, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

18. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Services at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Services immediately ceases
  • Any unused loyalty points or account credits may be forfeited
  • Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution

You may delete your account at any time through the App or by contacting us.

19. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and notify you through the App, email, or other appropriate means. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

20. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.

21. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Mattie's regarding the Services and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, or representations.
